Silectone 100 Tablet is used to remove excess water from the body and treat fluid overload (oedema). It also maintains the bloodstream's potassium level and prevents hypertension (high blood pressure due to oedema (fluid retention).

Spironolactone is used in combination with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Spironolactone is also used to lessen the need for hospitalization for heart failure.

You'll usually take spironolactone once a day in the morning. If you're taking a high dose you might need to take spironolactone twice a day. If you're taking it twice a day, make sure you take the second dose no later than 4pm. Taking it later than this may mean you have to wake up in the night to pee.
